I am a freelance editor providing structural and copy editing services to a range of clients from independent fiction authors to small publishers and non-profit arts organizations. In fiction, I specialize in sci-fi and fantasy, but also have experience editing romance, horror, literary fiction and short stories. For non-profit arts organizations, I have edited program guides, brochures and video captions. Whether working with an individual author, publisher or arts organization, I work hand in hand with writers and content creators to support their vision and produce a final product they can be proud of.Throughout my career, I have gained experience across a wide range of fields. I have a BSc from the University of Toronto, an MA from York University and an Editing Certificate from George Brown College. I am currently pursuing a Publishing Certificate from Toronto Metropolitan University. I have also passed Editors Canada's Editing Essentials Exam. I am a provincially certified skating coach and have worked as a soccer referee at international tournaments. On the non-profit side, I have over 10 years of experience working for film and theatre festivals in Toronto.Regardless of the job, I have found that my ability to organize, manipulate and understand language has been a key factor in my success.
