I am a freelance editor providing structural and copy editing services to a range of clients from independent fiction authors to small publishers and non-profit arts organizations. In fiction, I specialize in sci-fi and fantasy, but also have experience editing romance, horror, literary fiction and short stories. For non-profit arts organizations, I have edited program guides, brochures and video captions. Whether working with an individual author, publisher or arts organization, I work hand in hand with writers and content creators to support their vision and produce a final product they can be proud of.Throughout my career, I have gained experience across a wide range of fields. I have a BSc from the University of Toronto, an MA from York University and an Editing Certificate from George Brown College. I am currently pursuing a Publishing Certificate from Toronto Metropolitan University. I have also passed Editors Canada's Editing Essentials Exam. I am a provincially certified skating coach and have worked as a soccer referee at international tournaments. On the non-profit side, I have over 10 years of experience working for film and theatre festivals in Toronto.Regardless of the job, I have found that my ability to organize, manipulate and understand language has been a key factor in my success. My varied background has made me an editor who is able to appreciate and hone the English language in its many forms.I look forward to making connections with authors and organizations to help them share their vision with the world.
