I worked the cash register, stocked the shelves, put up sales signs, answered phones, set out ads, and cleaned after closing.I learned great people skills, and how to be more patient with unsatisfied customers. I have also worked in the photo department developing film, cleaning the machines, using a computer picture kiosk, developing digital orders, etc. I am currently training to be a Beauty Advisor in the cosmetics department, which means knowing different typed of make-up, face wash, beauty supplies, etc. Being a Beauty Advisor actually gets you closer to the customer and their wants and needs. I was a mentor to new coming students to college.I would give advice, help with homework, give tours of the new campus, find school resources, etc.I would also help the teacher and school keep track of the students, call when they needed to be known of an assignment/tour change, call when not in class, call when classes were canceled.I was even there to help students learn how to navigate the internet, set up email accounts, find resources, and even set up a Facebook to learn how to interact over the internet. I had to quit so soon because I left for US Navy boot camp in Oct. 2009.
