Team member of a highly collaborative and technically focused group of academic scientists studying Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 1 Syndrome. Mastery in multiple experimental techniques including HELP-tagging, a novel approach to measuring genome-wide cytosine methylation, and ELISA assays to measure tumor growth in proprietary mouse models using insulin as an indicator. Other responsibilities include RNA-seq, animal dissection, and tissue staining and analysis through microscopy. Co-author of the recently submitted manuscript “Loss of MEN1 leads to activation of DNMT1, global DNA hypermethylation and implicates the Sox-Wnt/β-Catenin pathway as a driver of MEN1 tumorigenesis.”

Collaborated and worked alongside Cornell graduate professionals performing laboratory research including various biological and genetic examination techniques. Responsibilities included DNA and RNA isolation,purification and analysis, PCR (including RT-PCR, real-time PCR, and primer optimization), gel electrophoresis, and restriction enzyme digest. Collected, prepared, and analyzed findings for publication. Co-author of abstract “Molecular cloning and tissue expression analysis of the bovine IWS1 gene in an imprinted BTA2 region."
