I am Course Leader for the BA (Hons) Education & TESOL programme at the University of Strathclyde. Designed in partnership with the Ministry of Education, the course prepares English teachers for Oman.I established the Strathclyde Hidden Voices Network with four undergraduate students in Summer 2020 when we were bored during the first Covid lockdown. We run internal and external events promoting the voices of children and families affected by imprisonment. Contact me if you would like more details or see #StrathHiddenVoices on X.As a doctoral student on Strathclyde's EdD programme, I run a research hub with women in the East End of Glasgow. Sitting in a new space where Salutogenesis, Asset-based Approaches and Community-based Participatory Research meet, this project prioritises the voices of adults who were excluded from school as children. Their stories are used to create resources and activities for the purpose of teacher education. Twenty-four teachers attended our first roll out of professional development sessions in May 2024.
