I moved to Blake Lapthorn (now Blake Morgan) becoming a partner in 1999. I headed up their property litigation team and was regularly featured in Chambers UK and the Legal 500 as a Leader in my field. I developed a practice in Probate disputes, working closely with our private client teams. When I emigrated to New Zealand in late 2014, an opportunity opened up at Knapps Lawyers in Richmond. It was a natural progression for me to join their Estates Planning and Administration Team as Senior Associate in early 2015. I joined the partnership in 2018 and became Managing Partner in 2020. I then founded Atkinson Crehan Law together with my business partner, Jacintha Atkinson-Manson. I have developed a particular interest in testamentary capacity. I was co-Counsel in the case of Public Trust v Dollimore with barrister Alison Douglass. I went on to be a reviewer of her publication, “Assessment of Mental Capacity - A New Zealand Guide for Doctors and Lawyers” published in 2020. I joined the Board of Alzheimers Nelson-Tasman in 2017 and am now Vice-Chair.I joined the Board of NZ Law Limited, as association of independent legal practices with 54 members firms located across New Zealand in October 2018.
