Duties include strategic operational command and control of the personnel and equipment assets in the BBS on OGS that amount to 93 Task Force Members, 19 vehicles, 5 government computers, and 3 WIFI components resulting in the amount of over $760,000. As XO for the BBS, provides operational statistics to Battery Commanders and Border Patrol on movements and completed taskings for a sector that spans 218 miles from east to west, and 133 miles from north to south with a breakdown of weekly, monthly, and mission totals while simultaneously addressing the welfare of Soldiers by tackling pay issues, enlistment packets, leave, allocating resources, reporting significant events, weekly metrics numbers, Soldiers issues and any changes in job requirements. In addition, maintain open channels of communication and cultivating a favorable working relationship with CBP personnel and BP to ensure optimal contribution to their organization. To maintain Soldier Readiness, plans and coordinates training in the Big Bend Sector to include ASPT, CLS, Recovery Operations, Convoy Operations, Vehicle Safety, Annual Briefings, Radio Communications, Resiliency Training, Physical Training, and MOSQ specific trainings.
