The Team Leader CN Police Communication Centre is responsible for managing the team working in CN’s Emergency Communication Centre (CNECC). The Team Leader handles situations urgently and balances all management duties while providing the public and various CN departments with the assistance required. The incumbent is also required to look for ways to improve upon and streamline current policies and operating procedures through the identification of deficiencies.Communication Support Service:• Provide communication and support services to all CN Police staff.• Coordinate dispatched emergency calls between CN Police and local emergency services by receiving and transmitting radio and phone calls.• Maintain accurate, up-to-date files and logs for reports and keep management and executives aware of major events.CNECC Team Supervision:• Ensure quality control by reviewing all reports produced by CNECC for missing details or failure to adhere to company and departmental policies and procedures.• Ensure that all dispatchers are aware of any changes in policies and procedures.• Provide systems and operations training to new hires, assist with the onboarding process, and implement coaching meetings with direct reports.• Ensure that all dispatchers are fully trained and up-to-date in yearly training and qualifications.• Organize and maintain teams’ schedules to ensure proper coverage on every shift, while considering vacation and overtime requests.• Prepare and conduct Annual Reviews and Employee Performance for direct reports.• Provide advice and assistance to all dispatchers on duty.• Act as a point of reference for any questions related to policies and procedures, system issues, and Computer-aided Design (CAD) support.• Document and report any non-compliance with CN and departmental rules, policies, and behaviour to the appropriate Inspector and CEPCC Manager.
