I work at the front desk of a Residence Hall for University Housing. I assist residents with questions varying from things concerning the dorm itself to more broad questions involving campus life. I sort the residents' mail and issue keys to them.

Sheep Farm

The class title is Farm Animal Handling. I am the TA for the sheep farm section of this course. We teach students of varying skill how to work with these animals. During the semester we will be teaching them things like how to draw blood, give vaccinations, treat for worms, sheer them, and halter them. At the end of the semester they will be asked to.

Animal Science Laboratory

We are studying stress effects of immunology in swine as well as side projects looking at the impact of diet and genetics. We preform blood draws on piglets and sows at various stages of the weaning process. I help prepare all the necessary vials, eppendorf tubes, and histopaque. I along with other assistants weigh the animals and secure them for the blood.

Springfield, Illinois

My time here was split between the animal shelter and the spay/neuter clinic. I did everything from administrative tasks and supervising volunteers to giving vaccinations and sterilizing surgical equipment. I would take dogs to adoption events and pet therapy sessions.

I worked twenty hours while school was in session and around thirty-five hours while out of school. I worked mainly as a cashier and hostess. On certain occasions I would help with food preparation in the kitchen. I would often be put in charge of new employees and responsible for training them.
