Providing professional support and administration of processes to ensure Healthy and Safety systems are correct and up to date, and assist with the Incident Investigation process across the project. I began my role when the region was at the first few stages of construction of the Sub Station and due to the fast paced progression of work, seen the region grow within a year and a half through to the final stages of Mechanical Completion and commissioning. Thiess was appointed to construct gas compression facilities and associated works for the landmark QCLNG project in the Surat Basin. Building on a track record of delivery for coal seam gas producer QGC, including construction of all 17 Field Compression Stations and four Central Processing Plants, Sub Stations, 14.5 kilometres of steel gas trunklines, water storage ponds and complete site preparation for additional compression stations.

After assisting with the opening of the Airport Link Tunnel, I decided to take a year off to explore parts of the world, including North and Central America and Europe.

I began my role on the project in the initial design phase as Assistant Safety in Design Review Facilitator / PA to Design Managers. Reporting to the Design Manager, I was responsible for distinguishing and documenting risk information in over 250 Safety in Design Sessions, entering the risks into the project database, ensuring the risks were accepted and provided support where necessary. I also assisted a team of 8 Design Managers and their coordinators in all administration tasks. As the project moved into the construction phase, I began my role as Global Safety Administrator. Reporting directly to the Project Safety Manager, I was responsible for assisting the Project Safety Manager in overseeing safety on the project from a global administration aspect. Seeing this project from initial design phase, through construction and finally completion, I was appointed as one of 15 Interchange Managers on the opening night of Airport Link Tollroad in July 2012, thus completing my time at Airport Link Northern Busway Airport Roundabout Upgrade Project. The Airportlink/Northern Busway/Airport Roundabout Upgrade Project was a priority infrastructure project for the State of Queensland, representing a $4.8 billion investment by the State Government into infrastructure for Brisbane’s north. The construction of the Project was one of the most complex and challenging operations undertaken in an urban environment, comprising of 15 kilometres of tunnels below some of Brisbane’s busiest arterial roads, in addition to five ramps, 25 bridges and 2.5km of cut and cover structures. The Project was designed and constructed by Thiess Pty Limited and John Holland Pty Limited trading as Thiess John Holland for a consortium known generally as BrisConnections. Completion of the Airportlink Tollroad was achieved by TJH on 23 July 2012.
