My current role is Scientist II in the Molecular Biology Operations division at MilliporeSigma (formerly BioReliance). This division oversees PCR and qPCR based testing, and employs automation to handle high throughput testing. I serve as study manager/director for GMP and GLP testing including regulated safety testing required for clinical and commercial product manufacturing of biologics. I am responsible for reviewing and interpreting assay results, training lab personnel, and day to day technical laboratory support. I've been responsible for several process improvements including revisions and updates to regulated documents. I work with other departments including Quality Assurance, Project Management and report writers to ensure timely delivery of results to our clients, investigation and resolution of any deviations from GxP, and to institute appropriate process improvements.

I ensured that testing was performed according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and applicable regulations. I worked with other departments including Quality Assurance, Project Management and report writers to ensure timely delivery of results to our clients, investigation and resolution of any deviations from GxP, and to institute appropriate process improvements. I managed an internal project aimed at improving the current processes to maintain cleanliness of work surfaces.

I worked for Kelly Services at the National Institutes of Health, National Human Genome Research Institute in the laboratory of Dr. Francis Collins. My research focused on Hutchinson Gilford Progeria Syndrome (HGPS), a segmental premature aging disorder. We used mouse models, as well as cell culture to evaluate drug treatment for this disorder, particularly inhibition of the mTOR pathway. I also worked on determining the role of progerin, the protein overproduced by HGPS patients, in natural aging and development.

I continued work started as a post-doctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health, National Human Genome Research Institute, in the laboratory of Dr. Francis Collins. I analyzed a new Prader-Willi Syndrome imprinting center deletion mouse model that I created during my graduate work in Dr. James Resnick's lab. I also assessed the effect of cre mediated deletion of the Prader-Willi Syndrome imprinting center at different stages of development on methylation, phenotype and expression of imprinted genes.

During my graduate studies in Dr. James Resnick's lab, I determined the imprinting status of the gene Atp10a in murine brain, and created a new mouse model for Prader-Willi Syndrome with the smallest imprinting center deletion to date.
