I'm a volunteer teacher with the youth in my local area. I have taught Sunday School classes for 2-3 year olds, led a Truth and Training (T&T) Awana's group for 4th-6th graders, and currently teach Children's Church for K-3rd graders.

During my husband’s time in command (April 2007-August 2009), I led the Golf Forward Support Company,3-16 Field Artillery Regiment’s, Family Readiness Group (FRG). My position was to provide leadership, education, and information to spouses and family members of deployed soldiers to ensure information fidelity and group cohesiveness. I attended meetings with the Battalion Commander or the Rear Detachment Commander, to gather their intent as well as pertinent dates and events. I then properly disseminated the information to 200 plus individuals. I organized events and functions to help the spouses and family members cope with the hardships of training and deployments. During my husband’s last deployment, I led a marriage enrichment course for spouses entitled Love and Respect, by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs. I consistently was evaluated as the best FRG Leader in the Battalion. I received some awards during my husband’s Army career. They include the Molly Pitcher Award (2002), 4th Infantry Division Volunteer of the Month Award (February 2008), Fort Carson Certificate of Appreciation for 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division (April 2009), 4th Infantry Division Ivy Gold Volunteer Award (April 2009), Thunder Pride Battalion Certificate of Appreciation (November 2009), The President’s Volunteer Service Award (2009), and the Fort Carson Certificate of Appreciation from 204th Brigade Support Battalion (April 2010).
