Played an integral role in the growth of this volunteer organization, since its inception, serving on all Executive Committee positions and as a Project Lead for EWB-USA’s 2014 Outstanding Project of the Year: Street Construction in El Salvador. Supervise projects from ideation through completion, engaging in a detailed and thoughtful process of partnering with international communities as they identify engineering challenges and seek EWB expertise in their resolution.➜ Engage in heavy investigative work to define possible solutions to community engineering and access challenges; communicate with key influencers and stakeholder groups; create and present preliminary designs; secure community approval; fundraise to fuel 100% of project budgets; and manage projects onsite to completion.━Key Projects━➜ Managed project to design and build a street and storm sewer drainage system in San Pedro Puxtla in El Salvador, collaborating with civic leaders and project stakeholders—the town’s mayor, local residents, construction supervisors, and financial contributors—to build the infrastructure to connect residents to their town during the wet season.➜ Deliverables: Underground storm sewer system, large retaining walls, sidewalks, gutters, and a concrete paved street.➜ Responded to the people of Las Victorias—a small Mayan village in North Central Guatemala—and their hopes to build a school to provide 200+ children with a safe property in which to learn and play. Developed a master plan, selected a well-regarded local construction supervisor, and established the construction timeline commencing in 2019.➜ Deliverables: 15-foot retaining wall, classrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, sheltered eating area, and play area.

Recruited to join a decade-old business during a period of high growth, assuming leadership of all operations functions pivotal to the day-to-day management of the business. Built a sound and scalable operating infrastructure supportive of the company’s ability to deliver design/build services with a focus on industrial automation and electrical control systems.➜ Assessed organizational needs and identified operational gaps necessitating intervention, instilling best practices-based processes and systems to ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting, insurance, and job tracking.➜ Gained deep knowledge of running a business from a financial perspective, managing P&L, reporting on project profitability, processing A/P and A/R, and providing the CEO with the data transparency critical for decision-making.➜ Sourced, vetted, and selected new professional services vendors, including onboarding a new CPA to play an instrumental role in improving accounting processes, administrative efficiencies, and bookkeeping automation.

Led design activities for the Bridge Section of this civil engineering consulting firm, designing several key interchange configurations, managing multiple concurrent projects with varying stakeholders, and bringing the smallest or most-complex projects to a successful close, not only on time and within budget, but also with a superior end product. Fostered collaborative relationships with project stakeholders, becoming a ‘go-to’ resource throughout the design/build lifecycle.━Select Projects━➜ Served as Lead Bridge Engineer on an ODOT project involving coordinating with neighboring residents to determine the preferred bridge type and noise barrier, ensuring representation of the community’s voice throughout the project.➜ Completed bridge design and detailing for major grade separation in Ashtabula County, in addition to managing and performing bridge plan preparation for the rehabilitation and widening of 8 adjacent bridges in Pickaway County.➜ Named Structures Project Lead for 3 twin mainline and 6 overhead bridges; the rehab of 19 structures on I-75 in Hamilton County; and a project including 3 interchanges, 2 twin mainline structures, and 3 overhead structures.➜ Prepared the Historic American Engineering Record (HAER) for the Main Street Bridge project in Columbus, Ohio, documenting the history of the structure and preparing display boards and fliers to inform residents of its condition.
