Amanda Harris is a higher education administrator in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She graduated with her Bachelor of Music in Musical Theater in 2004 from Oklahoma City University and earned her Master of Business Administration in 2009 from the University of Phoenix. After briefly pursuing a career in performing arts, Amanda transitioned to work in higher education and student support in late 2004. She quickly discovered a passion for supporting adult non-traditional students through their educational journey. In 2013, Amanda transitioned to Mid-America Christian University (MACU), where she served as a Student Support Specialist, Director of Student Services, and now, the Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. Amanda leads the university's strategic planning, GiANT professional development, and customer experience training initiatives. While at MACU, Amanda has coordinated the implementation of essential services and initiatives for the University, such as University Operational Values, new employee onboarding, the creation of a podcast studio, and the “Wouldn’t It Be Great If” initiative, a model for promoting student and employee engagement in the planning process. She is a certified GiANT 5-Voices and 100X Leader facilitator. Amanda is an artist and lives in Moore, Oklahoma, with her husband, where she continues to pursue music, art, and her small pottery business.
