This conference brings together hundreds of national youth correspondents from high schools all over the nation to experience an integrated approach to journalism and acquire valuable ‘in the trenches’ knowledge.As a junior faculty advisor, I led a group of these students through journalism simulations and networking opportunities throughout D.C. I also met and learned from prominent people in the journalism and media industry, including: Pulitzer Prize winning photographer Carol Guzy; National Geographic editor in chief, Susan Goldberg; C-SPAN founder and CEO, Brian Lamb; and personally interviewed SportCenter's Phil Murphy.
