Amanda worked as an advertising copywriter for more years than was probably good for her. Happily she also qualified as a garden designer along the way and successfully designed, built and planted her way around the gardens of south London for five years.After a regrettable (no, it really was) return to advertising she made her second, and permanent, escape from corporate life and hot-footed it first to Capel Manor College, and then to London College of Garden Design (LCGD) to study on their Diploma in Planting Design course - the only one of its kind in Europe. At LCGD she was tutored by some of the UK’s most innovative and respected designers and horticulturists, and picked up the Guest Lecturer’s Award for her final project.Now under the war cry ‘plants not paving’, and always deeply rooted in a meaningful concept, her designs are all about using planting to create happy, healthy and resilient outdoor spaces.Amanda used to write a monthly gardening blog and run live Facebook Q&A garden advice sessions for a major DIY retailer.
