Green Dog Dental is a fully functioning veterinary hospital with a major focus on oral care. We do non anesthetic dental cleanings under the supervision of a DVM.I am the lead vet assistant. My duties include: training other associates, ordering medical supplies, maintaining inventory, collecting patient samples, insertion of IV catheters, administration of medications.

As an assistant I am responsible for caring for any animals that come into the hospital as well as interacting with their owners. I am responsible for running any diagnostic testing on the animals: blood, feces, urine, earwax. I also monitor the animals while they are under anesthesia. I maintain a clean environment for the animals and also prepare any medications being sent with the patient. A large portion of my duties also includes accurately entering medical notes.

As a shift lead, a job to which I was recently promoted in Jan of 2016, I was responsible for all other associates in the hospital excluding the Doctors and practice manager. I maintained the hospitals inventory weekly. I also assisted with making associate schedules and ensured that the correct talent was scheduled with the doctors weekly. I played a smaller role in conflict resolution between various members of the staff. As a shift lead, I have seen more of the business side of the hospital and I was responsible for increasing daily production by promoting the influx of more patients.

I was in charge of store maintenance. I made sure that all products were placed in the correct location on the floor and I also handled shipment. When new items arrived, I scanned them into the store, marked them with the correct price and placed them on the sales floor. On occasion I was asked to take over the duties of a model. Models were tasked with greeting the customers, keeping the floor items neat and checking the customer out.

I was a member of the Upward Bound Program. The sole purpose of this program is to provide extra aid to underprivileged students on their journey to college. I monitored student activities in and out of the classroom. I graded papers, kept students focused on the task at hand and completed any other tasks assigned by the Teacher with whom I worked. I also participated in the community service activities and acted as a mentor to these students. During the summer, students attended weekly cultural enrichment activities off campus and I also attended these events to help answer questions and watch over the students. Such events included: trips to aquariums, science museums and The University of Texas at Arlington.

As a cashier, I directly interacted with the customers and handled up to $1000.00 in my register at any time. Often I was asked to take on the role of the lead party planner. That job entailed preparing the backroom for children’s parties for up to 25 children. I created their goody bags and prepared their food. I was the party hostess for 2 hours and cleaned the room up afterwards.

I was in charge of moving confidential documents to another building.I was also responsible for distributing classified information to workers throughout the building. I physically filed information and moved furniture and other appliances out of the building. I worked a forty hour week.I was offered a full time position but turned it down due to my university change.
