I believe that every child deserves a quality education in order to become his or her best self. My role as an educator is to provide students with the tools necessary to explore their surroundings, to make discoveries about what is true, and to use what they know to impact their generation towards intellectual progress and social justice. I believe that education is a lifelong journey that begins at birth and never ends. As an educator with a growth mindset, I am constantly evolving, seeking feedback and developing myself. I would like to encourage my students to do the same. Helping children understand that their potential is not fixed, but that it is as limitless as their curiosity and drive, is my primary goal as a teacher. The classroom is a forum for learning and practicing the skills necessary to succeed in life. It is where community and relationships are built, where risks can be taken, ideas shared, strengths showcased, and curiosity fostered. Students must be encouraged to dig deeper, to build connections between content areas, to think critically, to make mistakes, and most importantly, to never stop learning!To my future classroom, I plan to bring my strategic thinking, a disciplined and collaborative approach to my professional learning community, high organizational standards, a philosophy of education rooted in constructivism, and a desire to continuously learn alongside my students!
