I am passionate about creating and maintaining beautiful and sustainable landscapes that enhance the quality of life for people and the environment. As a Longwood Fellow at Longwood Gardens, I am learning from some of the world's best experts in public horticulture leadership, while developing my vision, strategy, and management skills to lead change and innovation in the field. This development includes completing the Strategic Leaders Program from Michigan Ross School of Business. Previously, as a Senior Gardener at the City of Seattle, I supervised and trained a team of gardeners, maintenance laborers and seasonal employees. I have managed multiple projects, such as the installation of the Washington Park Arboretum Loop Trail and the maintenance, monitoring, and permit compliance of a newly installed wetland. I am an Interantional Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist with a Tree Risk Assessment Qualification as well as holding licenses and certifications, such as the Washington State Pesticide Applicator License with an Aquatics Endorsement, the Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead. I have a strong customer service orientation, and I enjoy working with diverse stakeholders and partners to deliver excellent results. I am eager to continue finding new ways to apply my skills and knowledge to contribute to furthering equity, beauty and sustainability and to grow as a leader and a learner in the public horticulture and public service sectors.
