I support the Medicaid 1115 Demonstration project on the Substance Use Disorder (SUD) task as a project manager and lead author. I also work on the Medicare Value Based Care Learning System as a content manager. On both projects I support technical assistance tasks requested from our clients.

The Center for Health Care Strategies (CHCS) is a policy design and implementation partner working to improve outcomes for people enrolled in Medicaid. CHCS collaborates with partners to connect people and innovative ideas to make effective and equitable care possible. I was an intern with the Delivery System and Payment Reform team. I supported the work of the Medicaid Primary Care Population-Based Payments Learning Collaborative by participating in project activities and developing content knowledge of value-based payments and health equity. The New Jersey State Policy Lab assists the State of New Jersey and its many communities in the design, implementation, and evaluation of state policies and programs through evidence-based research with an emphasis on equity. The Policy Lab engages and collaborates with stakeholders in the community to create high-quality data to inform decision making to make effective policies that address the needs of New Jersey residents. During the Summer of 2022 I participated in the Summer Intern Program and researched racial disparities within Medicaid. I am continuing my work with the Policy Lab through supporting research projects and writing blog posts for the website. Douglass College allows students to experience a small college atmosphere with programs aimed to empower women and develop academic excellence and leadership skills. I was a graduate assistant for the Douglass WiSE program at Douglass College. The Douglass WiSE program supports women in their STEM journeys by providing academic and leadership opportunities. The hospital strives to be an inclusive health delivery system with an emphasis in serving diverse populations within the community. There is a strong commitment to providing quality health care services to patients with safety as a top priority.I was a community health worker for the outpatient behavioral health department at MMC within the Integrated Home Health Program where I met one on one with clients on a weekly basis to help reduce inpatient hospitalizations.•Coordinated care of 64 clients in Integrated Home Health program through weekly in home outreaches to reduce the number of inpatient hospitalizations •Collaborated with IHH team of providers including advanced practice nurses, psychiatrists, and social workers to provide wrap around services to clients that addresses both mental health and medical needs•Assisted clients in various case management tasks such as filling out social services paperwork, scheduling medical appointments, and calling Medicare/Medicaid with insurance questions•Documented detailed notes in electronic health records system after client contact to ensure proper chain of communication •Provided emotional support to clients and encourage clients to follow providers’ recommendation to improve their overall wellbeing •Discussed clients’ psychiatric and medical needs and match them with appropriate community resources to address client concerns

The Rutgers Global Health Institute is a university-wide partnership that works to advance and implement global health initiatives. The institute brings together faculty from all disciplines in order to confront global health issues. Their goal is to raise awareness across the Rutgers community about global health and its impact on the world. Through collaboration with diverse partners, the institute is able to support and implement research, enhance education, and build strategic initiatives with various communities locally and globally. As the student engagement intern at Rutgers Global Health Institute, I worked towards creating greater student involvement surrounding global health on all Rutgers campuses. •Analyzed the institute's strategic plan and provided feedback on the 2018 Student Engagement Report to better understand student interest and involvement in global health at Rutgers •Established ways to collaborate more closely with student organizations on campus to form partnerships for future collaboration to increase student knowledge•Determined faculty involvement in global health through the 2018 Faculty Survey to develop questions about research projects and willingness to mentor students

MCRHC is a local health department who's vision is to see healthy people living in healthy communities. They want to accomplish this by preventing disease and injury, promoting healthier choices and assuring access to care through collaboration, and preparing and responding to public health emergencies. At MCRHC, I was a full time intern and throughout the months that I worked there I gained valuable experience learning about how local health departments run. I worked one on one with the entire staff and was taught how to serve the community and understand their needs. •Participated in taking notes during an Ebola table top drill hosted by Robert Wood Johnson to portray the response of of local public health agencies and various other players in the health care field •Attended NJDOH Population Health Summit to learn about the effects of population growth in various counties in New Jersey •Audited 200 vaccination records on site at a Monmouth County middle school to ensure that all students were up to date on their immunizations •Aided in writing testimony to pass a health care bill mandating restaurants post food allergy information on menus •Participated in a VNA and WIC Monmouth County Council for Young Children Meeting to teach mothers about the importance of nutrition and the correct portion sizes for meals
