Duties were greatly varied and generally fell into three categories: Ecological Restoration• Ecological assessment and restoration planning at each site and for the general focus of WRV• Leading volunteers in ecological restoration in the field• Ordering plant material and restoration tools, befitting each restoration project• Recording and tracking field statistics to improve WRV's approach to ecological restoration• Overseeing ecological restoration by other Crew Leaders• Serving on the Restoration Committee to advance the restoration policy of WRV Administration• Grant writing, acquiring monetary and in-kind donations for the organization • Collaborative writing for printed and electronic materials like newsletters, field manuals, and brochures• Website administration• Implementation of website donation page• Coordinating efforts with partner organizations• Interviewing and hiring interns• Coordinating and leading internal meetings• Corresponding with members through membership campaigns, etc.• Serving on the Membership Committee to increase membership outreach and benefits• Creating and managing budgets Programming• Special event planning, namely the Wissahickon Trail Classic, WRV's annual fund-raising event• Co-planning volunteer events on a weekly basis, resulting in hundreds of additional volunteers and over a dozen additional restoration sessions annually• Representing WRV in the community• Developing programs including:The Neighborhood Stewardship Project- This program focuses on creating and training neighborhood groups to care for their sections of the parkThe Wissahickon Native Seed and Seedling Recovery Program- An initiative that aims to rescue or collect, and retain naturally-occurring plants in the Wissahickon Valley Park.
