The Community Programs Manager is responsible for carrying out the organization’s mission ofconnecting and supporting neighbors helping neighbors in the seven towns surrounding Mt. Ascutney Hospital. The Community Programs Manager manages program design, development and implementation; community assessment activities; program reporting and improvement recommendations. In addition, the Community Programs Manager functions as the main point of contact with the public, is responsible for managing and supervising large groups of volunteers across a number of programs and initiatives, and supervises the ViA Program Assistant, MAHHC Health Connections Coordinator and support staff, and the Resource Center Program Assistants while developing, organizing, and implementing both day-to-day operations and long-term growth. The Community Programs Manager is also responsible for billing, grant writing in collaboration with the Data & Grant Manager, volunteer recruitment/onboarding, and outreach. Additionally, the Community Programs Manager functions as the Co-Chair of the MAHHC Community Health Implementation Plan (CHIP) 50+ Health Network, as the Co-Facilitator of the Windsor VeggieVanGo Program, and as the representative for ViA at numerous community health and transportation weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings.

The selectboard is at the center of Vermont’s local government. It is the body that has general supervision and control over the affairs of the town. 24 V.S.A. § 872. The selectboard performs three functions: legislative (enacts local ordinances, regulations and policies); administrative (prepares and presents the budget, oversees all town expenditures, supervises personnel and controls town buildings and property); and quasi-judicial (determines private rights in such areas as laying out, discontinuing and reclassifying highways and hearing appeals as the local board of health and as the local liquor control commission). Notable accomplishments: designed and functioned as a liaison to the steering committee for Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) for the Town of Windsor, as well as a functioned as the liaison to the committee once officially created; helped with the creation and was the liaison for an additional steering committee that established a Windsor Sustainability & Energy Committee; provided insight and analysis that led to the implementation of body cameras for local law enforcement; and provided leadership and advocacy relating to social services, human and civil rights, and public health.
