Academic Advising CenterMeets with students from diverse backgrounds to assess potential academic areas for exploration, as well as academic-related issues including graduation requirements and exceptions, course planning and registration, transfer credit evaluation/substitution, and university policies and procedures.Maintains students’ academic files that include a record of the advising activity that takes place during each visit.In collaboration with other members of the Academic Advising Center, ensures consistent tracking of and communication with exploring students and academic standards students who are experiencing academic difficulty or delayed progress to degree completion.Works collaboratively with major exploration and various campus partners to ensure that students without a declared major are proactively supported in the major discovery process.Facilitates students’ academic progress by evaluating their needs and developing appropriate educational plans. Makes referrals for students who need assistance with learning differences, specialized tutoring, extended or intensive assistance with career decisions or similar needs.Leads specific tasks and projects related to the Warning Workshop via Canvas May gather data that requires utilization of data analytics platforms as well as manual tracking of individual studentsParticipates in daily shared AS tasks (such as two shared inboxes, workshop grading, etc.)Will be available for additional responsibilities with the Orientation & Outreach Team during orientation season when neededParticipates in the advising-related portion of new/transfer students and parent orientation sessions. Contributes to presentations and trainings for campus partners related to Academic Standards.Serves on Academic Advising Center and University committees as needed.May plan and participate in continuing education for advising staff.
