Technical writing chose me during my tenure at a young start-up company in Orem, Utah. After 9 months in their customer service department, I was asked to take on the task of creating a training program for all new hires. After a year and a half, an established program and 437 new hires later, I was asked to lend my product and company knowledge to our new Content Manager. When I took the new role, I had no idea that my new boss would gift me with experience and knowledge over the next 3 years to start a career I didn't even know existed, let alone one I wanted to do! After permanently relocating to Austin, Texas in 2018, I explored opportunities both inside and outside of technical writing in effort to make my way in a new town and learn more about myself. While I don't regret taking time to discover new talents and learn new skills, I felt right at home working with EA as a technical writer again. Working with Cisco this past year and a half gave me the opportunity to bring a fresh direction to outdated materials, hone in my skills, and learn new software. I love acquiring knowledge almost as much as I love coming up with creative and/or effective ways for sharing it. When given a chance to learn a new skill or software, I jump all the way in with a can-do attitude. I don't like half-done things and learning new industries always intrigues me. I am looking for opportunities that utilize and increase my skillset, offer room for growth, and new challenges. My work excels when working at a company who truly values their employees and offers the work-life balance to give me time with my dogs, afford more dog toys, stay connected, stay healthy, and finish a puzzle from time to time.
