I work as a Direct Support Professional helping adult individuals with special needs to live fulfilling and meaningful lives. Duties include: transporting various clients to and from a variety of events, activities, employment and volunteer opportunities in the community. Assisting with appropriate socialization and communication skills. Helping to empower individuals to be more independent and give them a sense of purpose and dignity in the world.

Seasonal employment. Worked as a part time farm hand on an organic vegetable farm. Picked vegetables & fruits for farmers markets. Assisted with planting, garden maintenance and fall cleanup.

Provided kitchen help, food prep and wait service on a per-diem basis for a renowned vegan & Ayurvedic food establishment. Was expected to maintain an understanding and sufficient knowledge of the concepts of Indian cuisine, holistic cooking, herbs, spices and healing foods.

Responsible for providing social, cognitive and creative stimulation to residents through the facilitation of various daily group activities such as games, music, arts & crafts, manicures, and religious services. I assisted residents with ambulation to and from activities and provided one on one support through room visitations. As a feeding assistant i was required to provide nutritional support to those who were unable to feed themselves. Provided assistance to Activities Director with event/party planning management and decoration. As a Dessert Hostess I was responsible for making and serving desserts via the Dessert Cart and was expected to maintain quality standards of sanitation and cleanliness. I also worked briefly as a dietary aide providing quality dining service to dining room guests.

Collaborative media arts project started in 2009 with fellow artist Peter James Crowell. Together we created several short films, with a primary focus on the Lowell/Boston independent music & arts scene.
