I am a senior accounting major at the Isenberg School of Management. I chose UMass Amherst and specifically Isenberg because the large environment where you have to learn to become your own advocate and collaborate with lots of other people will help prepare me for the business world. I enjoy constantly meeting new people who can provide me with a new perspective. Through my academics and work experience, I have become familiar with accounting concepts, managing money, collaborating with individuals, and I have a strong Excel background. In the short term, I hope to explore the different fields of accounting to find the one best suited for me. I’m especially interested in audit and forensic accounting because I am very detailed-oriented and feel as though I would be skilled at detecting inconsistencies in financial statements. In the future, my goal is to be leading a dynamic engagement team of hard-working individuals and managing a wide variety of clients.
