The Iowa Pharmacy Recovery Network is a monitoring and advocacy peer-review program administered by the Iowa Pharmacy Association for the purpose of assisting impaired pharmacists, pharmacy students, and pharmacy technicians. Services provided by IPRN are intended to be in the best interest of the pharmacist, technician, or student, and the public. IPRN’s activities are designed to preserve the involved pharmacy professional’s reputation and ability to render competent and quality patient care. IPRN goals include providing increased exposure and education to pharmacists, students, pharmacy technicians and employers to have a better understanding of the services provided by IPRN, and the opportunities to help pharmacy professionals who suffer from the disease of addiction. Personalizing the journey of an impaired pharmacist creates an atmosphere of authenticity; this provides a gateway for greater compassion and willingness to advocate, educate and participate.

Worked as a staff pharmacist in Iowa City, Iowa, standard dispensing functions were performed as well as expanded roles in MTM, vaccinations, and disease state management. Spent time as adjunct faculty at Drake College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and as preceptor at the Patient Care Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Performed as pharmacy manager in Waterloo and Newton, Iowa.
