In this role I am the admin for several nurse case managers in the NICU at Woman and Infant’s Hospital. I work closely with the nurses in this department as well as the insurance companies and the finance department to ensure that all new admissions have authorizations throughout their stay in the hospital. I communicate with the insurance companies and financial counselors on a daily basis. I am highly organized, detail oriented, a team player and an excellent multitasker. I have also worked on the adult side of the unit at one point covering two LOAs simultaneously. I am a fast learner and extremely hard worker. Other duties in this position include creating schedules, handling denials, and setting up referrals. I worked closely with the director of case management to implement new systems and processes to modernize the department making a more efficient workflow for all case managers.
