Some of the work is connected to CalNAGPRA/NAGPRA, and we work towards repatriating many of these items back to Indigenous Nations. Duties include: Data entry, inventory of artifacts and associated records, reprinting labels, organizing artifact boxes, taking and sending inventory to Native American Heritage Commission.

Independent Field Study- The Redman-Hirahara House CollectionUniversity Of California, Santa Cruz Sep 2021 - Jun 2022Santa Cruz, California, United StatesI assisted PhD candidate in the “California Pasts” archaeology lab located on UC Santa Cruz campus. The Redman/Hirahara house is a farm house that was owned by a Japanese American family, the Hiraharas. When executive order 9066 was signed in 1942, the Hiraharas were sent to Rowher internment camp in Arkansas. The project works towards piecing together Japanese farming and community in the Pajaro Valley pre and post internment, while also bringing more awareness to social injustices that Japanese Americans faced during WWII.Duties include: Sorting artifacts, washing artifacts, photographing artifacts and associated documents, archival research, data entry, analysis of artifacts, bagging and cataloging artifacts.
