I am coming into my tenth year in the Employability sector. A decade of helping people into work and a decade of learning valuable and sometimes hard lessons. JETS, Green Spark, Work and Health, Functional Skills support and other contributions across the network, along with personal trials and tribulations have made who I am today. I am so proud of who I am and what I have achieved. I have dedicated my time and energy to expanding my education and professional development, earning certifications such as CTLLS, MHFA, Coaching, and Train The Trainer as well as the madness of taking a degree while working full time. I know it can be done but my god, is it difficult! My experiences of delivering training to the incredible people I have worked with is incredibly rewarding. I take pride in coaching people, adding value to their CPD which is currently supported by a fantastic management team that have guided me to exceed my personal and professional goals. Confidence, taking my time, not allowing pressure to build and taking each day as it comes has brought me to a place of personal contentment and professional happiness. Winning a 'Special Recognition' award recently made me see that what I do has real value to those I meet and those I see every day. Another 'proud of me' moment. Currently, I am heading up the Skills Lab project, which delivers one-hour sessions on employability, customer service, health and safety, communication skills, and much more. The framework allows me to edit, revamp, and create new content, making it an ideal role. I am always open to conversations, networking and gaining insights that will increase the value of the Skills Lab.I have ‘levelled up' to 51 recently and can say without fear or favour that you are never too old to find a new path, never too set in your ways to make a change if you want it and if people are holding you back or stopping you from being your best self, question why. Employability has taught me resilience, patience, persistence, added value to my creativity, allowed my creativity to thrive and brought me a hefty dose of inner peace. Career-wise, I highly recommend it. Be your best self every day, on purpose. There are enough people out there to put you down, do not, under any circumstances, be one of them. Be your own cheerleader or support network if you need to, I know you can do it. I know you can.
