The majority of my work experience has been in the areas of writing and editing fiction- largely works in genre fiction and the majority of it within the horror genre. In regards to my own written and creative works, I have successfully published four novels and several pieces of short fiction for numerous anthologies, written many reviews and author interviews across social media, been fortunate enough to manage two blogs (one for author interviews, reviews, and promotion of my own and other authors' published works, and the other focused on mental health, mindfulness, and the effects of these things have on the creative process and recovery as a whole), written SEO content articles for the internet in the areas of health and general advice, and done some illustrations for a children's book. In regards to editing and publishing work, I have experience in both the established publishing industry and in that of independent publication. I served six years (December 2013- May 2019) as a member of staff for J. Ellington Ashton (a small press with the majority of its presence online) under the roles of staff editor, executive editor, and COO. These positions gave me experience in the areas of scheduling and assigning tasks to a small team of staff who assisted several authors with cover art and editing for the publication of novels and short works, conflict resolution and mediation, overseeing editing and planning for sixteen anthologies with varying themes both alone and with other editors, providing advice related to promotion methods and social media presence, proofreading, copy editing, content editing, critique and development editing, and acquisitions.
