I currently head up the Brand & Communications team at Rethink Mental Illness managing a team of six, covering the charity's brand work, audio visual work and design, with lived experience being a key part of the storytelling of this work. Previously as Head of Digital Communications I managed a team of five, using web and social media channels to communicate the key messages of the charity which supports people living with severe mental illness and their carers. I have over 20 years' experience in communications, and event management, ranging from small seminars to international conferences. I have worked in teams but have also worked in the sole communications role in organisations so have a broad comms remit. My main interests lie in health and social care and I've had the fortune to work on both sides of the fence - with fundraisers and a grant maker awarding around £35m a year. A career highlight was working on communications with addiction charity Action on Addiction which was one of HRH The Duchess of Cambridge's (now Princess of Wales’) first four patronages.
