As Senior eLearning Specialist with the Learning Engagement Office (Faculty of Extension), I worked as part of a cohesive team of Instructional Designers and eLearning Specialists to help facilitate eLearning initiatives in the Faculty of Extension. Through the use of educational and technical expertise, I provided direct support to the design, construction, and delivery of online and blended programs in the Faculty to enhance usability, accessibility, and student engagement, and both oversaw and provided direct technical support to staff, students, and instructors who used the University’s suite of eLearning tools. I also managed and directed work flow/processes, and participated in active project management for the eLearning Specialist team. I was responsible for designing new processes for improvement as required, and as the senior team member, also trained new staff and assisted with the onboarding process, providing mentorship and on-going guidance and support to other team members.

In my role as an eLearning Support Specialist with the Learning Engagement Office (Faculty of Extension), I collaborated on the design, creation, maintenance, and delivery of eLearning related training/instructional materials, and worked with other team members to both construct and support fully online and blended course sections within the University’s LMS. I also assisted with quality course design through involvement in the preparation of course materials, as well as user testing and evaluations.

As an LMS Support Assistant with the Center for Teaching and Learning, I was an active participant in the University’s LMS migration from Blackboard Vista to Moodle, testing and reporting on Moodle features and plug-ins, and working closely with other CTL staff to improve LMS services on campus. As part of my role, I also provided end-user support, providing LMS training/consultation services, as well as basic troubleshooting assistance.

As an intern with the Instructional Technology and Resources Lab (Dept. of Psychology), I provided ongoing quality support and assistance to departmental staff and faculty in website development, visual design, and on LMS set-up and design. I was also responsible for coordinating the Information Literacy program, whose modules I re-designed, programmed, and deployed for improved flow, relevance, and student engagement.
