Provide reassurance and support to families during difficult and intense medical procedures. I initially acquired this position through the Northeastern University co-op program where students alternate between semesters of academic study and periods of full time work. As such, the first six months of this position were full time, and during classes I now work part time.

Recruited acute, subacute, and chronic stroke patients for a grant funded study on aphasia. The aim of TAN lab is to maximize the functional communication recovery in people with aphasia by better understanding the links between the brain, language, and behavior in real-world contexts. In the past, I helped create a recruitment video for the lab, developed a recruitment slideshow for possible participants, and communicated parts of the study to potential participants through words and visuals. Studies focused on using near infrared spectroscopy to better understand how language is linked through walking and talking and another used smartwatch based ecological momentary assessment to capture real world anomia in people with aphasia.

Represented the Office of the President at designated events and related university activities. Members of this group are chosen because they are highly-skilled and experienced student leaders. In the past I have shared my unique Northeastern experiences to better validate the philanthropic contributions of donors, alumni, friends, faculty, staff, and the student body. I have also presented in front of the Northeastern Board of Trustees about my experiences and given feedback on where the university could make improvements. Through planned interactions with university constituents, I worked to advance public understanding of the university and the student role in its growth and success.

Alongside three other student coordinators and one Northeastern faculty member, planned and facilitated ten spring break volunteer trips and three fall weekend trips. Worked to market this program to Northeastern undergraduate and graduate students through social media, emails, and on campus recruitment. Successfully recruited over one hundred students students and thirteen university representatives to attend the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 volunteer service trips. Sought to create an immersive service and learning experience for Northeastern students volunteering with community organizations in the U.S. and around the world. Service trip topics included critical social issues such as affordable housing, environmental conservation, food security, and public health.

Worked as a peer advisor for incoming College of Science students throughout the academic year by attending events and sharing my perspective on my experience at Northeastern and as a College of Science student. Attended Welcome Week and introduced myself to the incoming COS student body. Served as a teaching assistant for introductory course for incoming students. Provided over thirty self scheduled peer to peer check ins throughout the semester to field questions and provide support for students. Lead registration related workshops with COS advising staff to help incoming students prepare.

Delivered care to a full spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions including fractures, spinal stenosis, plantar fasciitis, osteoarthritis, and ligament tears. Provided post operative care including suture removal, wound dressing, casting, and bracing. Performed patient intakes, recorded medical histories in charts, and prepared charts with proper imaging for up to six providers at a time during, and prior to, treatment. Learned how to properly mold custom made insoles for patients with various foot ailments. Over the course of one semester, we developed a prototype for the app and presented to the LifeStory Health's CEO and Founder Anna Villarreal. This project was made possible with the help of Northeastern University's First Year Research Program.
