I provide reference and readers' advisory services to library users of all ages using a variety of print and electronic reference sources. I am responsible for planning and organizing youth programs to encourage library participation from the community.

I provide historical interpretation about a variety of topics related to Dayton history, from its founding in 1796 to the present day. I also lead various educational programs for school groups that include historical demonstrations and lessons.

As a part-time librarian, I was responsible for reference services using print and electronic sources. I preformed collection maintenance tasks such as weeding and updating records. As part of a system-wide initiative, I was trained to provide technology instruction to users of various library applications including e-reader services such as 3M, Overdrive, Zinio, and research databases.

I performed circulation tasks such as shelving library materials, shelf reading, and checking books in/out. I provided account services, resolving account issues and book record discrepancies.

I used PastPerfect software to update and maintain archive and museum records. I created museum exhibits through the creation of exhibit scripts and created text and image panels to accompany museum objects. I prepared materials to be transferred to off-site facilities, packing selected items securely into archival quality boxes or envelopes, handling old and brittle items and assessing condition of items to determine the appropriate action to be taken. I supervised and reviewed the work of 6 library material handlers, ensuring that the work was completed accurately. This job required great accuracy and attention to detail to correctly sort, archive, and inspect item boxes and to prevent damage.This was a temporary contract which I began as a Library Materials Handler (5/14/12-7/31/12) and was promoted to Quality Control Specialist (8/1/12-9/6/12)
