As a Caller at the Bradley Fund, I had responsibilities to call Alumni and parents of current students to update their records, inform them of recent events happening on campus, and to encourage donating to scholarship funds for prospective Bradley students.

While working as a receptionist at The Hot Spot, I held all the responsibilities of the manager on a daily basis. I would open and close each day I worked, and during the day I answered phones, made appointments for clients, monitored tanning bed UV levels and tanning times, managed our business's Facebook page, etc.

This volunteer position first helped me to realize my love of working with children. Every day in the summer I would observe and assist a teacher in the Children's Learning Center at Rockford Memorial Hospital. It was here that I first learned the basics of lesson planning and keeping an organized classroom. Other duties of mine included reading with the kids, setting up and explaining games/learning activities, and assisting the instructor with paperwork.
