I am Program Manager of the Energy Management Program for the Central New York Regional Planning and Development Board (CNY RPDB), a public agency that serves a five-county region including Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, and Oswego Counties. I work with municipalities in CNY to encourage completion of NYSERDA's Clean Energy Community (CEC) High Impact Actions. Through the CEC program and CNY Bright Lights initiative, I work with CNY municipalities to convert streetlights to light emitting diode (LED) technology, including providing cost-benefit analyses of conversion options. As part of the CEC program, I also assist municipalities in installing electric vehicle charging stations and implementing electric vehicles in municipal fleets, undergoing energy efficiency and renewable energy retrofits, benchmarking municipal energy use data, and pursuing electrification projects, among other clean energy projects.I also work with CNY municipalities to encourage adoption of the Climate Smart Communities (CSC) pledge and implement steps of the CSC Certification program, including compiling community and municipal operations greenhouse gas inventories, working with community advisory committees to create community and municipal operations target reduction goals and Climate Action Plans, and working to implement energy efficiency projects. I also have experience working with municipalities in CNY to create sustainable community development plans, including Comprehensive Plans and updates. In addition, I manage and support work on other initiatives of the CNY RPDB's Energy Management Program, including the EnergySmart CNY initiative. Finally, I maintain the CNY Energy Challenge website, www.cnyenergychallenge.org.
