Hello! My name is Amanda McCleary and I am a passionate educator that strongly believes in the connection between teacher support and student success! This will be my 11th year in Education. I began as a literacy and technology coach for Vista Unified School District in Vista, California before teaching first-fourth grades in Southern and Northern California. In 2012, Under the supervision of Sylvia Ibarra and the DataWorks team, I began to coach teachers in the Mountain View Whisman School District in Explicit Direct Instruction techniques. After two years as a strategy specific Instructional Coach, I began to expand my coaching to two different elementary schools. I worked with teachers to plan, deliver, and analyze lessons in all subject areas in grades K-5. I am currently working at one school site within Mountain View Whisman School District as a site based Instructional Coach. The school is focused on implementing Project Based Learning and Design Thinking principles. I work closely with the principal and outside consultants to plan and deliver high quality professional development and coaching for 15 teachers at Stevenson Elementary School, a progressive project based learning school with a focus on parent integration. In conjunction with the New Teacher Project of Silicone Valley, I am an Induction Support Provider for Year 1 and Year 2 teachers that are working toward clearing their credentials. I also lead parent education classes and substitute training courses in classroom management, English Language Arts curriculum, and Math Curriculum. I have also been a lead coach for our district and have provided professional development for my colleagues in coaching and mentoring teachers in a variety of subject areas and professional reflective practices. I am currently pursuing and Administrative Credential as well. I look forward to connecting with you!
