Urban Agriculture Cooperative is a Newark-based non-profit that works to create sustainable urban food systems. At Urban Agriculture Cooperative, I helped manage a pilot community compost program. Composting is an essential part of sustainable food systems, as it reduces the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and creates new, healthy soil. My responsibilities included the following:• Built partnerships and coordinated with a network of community members.• Wrote and edited newsletters, grant proposals, and other pieces. • Designed a new webpage to showcase the pilot program• Worked hands-on at an urban farm.
