San Diego New Central LibraryTurner Construction Company is the Construction Manager/General Contractor for the 295,000 sq. ft., nine-story, New Central Library located in downtown San Diego surrounded by Park Boulevard, 11th Avenue, and J and K Streets. Special features include an outdoor plaza and café, 350-seat auditorium, three-story domed reading room, 400-seat multi-purpose room, teen center, 10,244 sq. ft. children’s library, technology center, and two levels of underground parking. Two floors of the library totaling 76,000 sq. ft. will be used for a charter school serving about 400 students. The New Central Library is being developed as a LEED Silver certified building.
