As Director of Quality and Food Safety with QCS Purchasing, my goal is to promote excellence and continuous improvement in the quality and food safety programs of each member facility. To this end, I call upon my 30+ years of dairy processing, quality assurance and auditing experience to provide hands-on guidance in quality systems development, best practices establishment, lab management, dairy product processing, regulatory compliance and supplier oversight. As a certified SQF Consultant and FSMA PCHF Lead Instructor, I act as technical support in the development and presentation of training programs and participate in the administration of the QCS Quality & Food Safety courses. To assist members in enhancing and demonstrating expertise in lab performance, I coordinate the QCS Dairy Lab Proficiency and QCS Dairy Quality Excellence Programs, training staff and supporting members in the development of proper techniques and procedures. To further serve as a resource to members, I also conduct on-site lab, quality and food safety assessments at manufacturing facilities, confirming that each consistently maintains compliance with FSMA and GFSI standards, and supporting them in adherance of our programs' elevated standards and organizational guidelines. In this time of flux and rapid personnel turnover, it is rewarding to be part of an organization that assists its members in managing these challenges, overcoming obstacles and in exceeding their own expectations… As a member of the QCS staff, I have the privilege of sharing my knowledge with those entering the industry and continuously collaborating with seasoned professionals to advance the food and beverage industry as a whole.
