Amanda is an advocate, advisor, academic, and architect. She recently branched out from the field of corporate innovation into the world of social innovation dedicated to defining and designing futures that are strategic, regenerative, and equitable.Determined to live a multifaceted life (aka fractional) she curated a new portfolio of leadership roles. She was recently appointed CEO of WIN, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing the impact and influence of women in innovation. She serves as Head of Community with 3x3, a women-led inclusive innovation studio of community-driven design, innovation, and civic leadership practitioners. She joined the faculty at SVA in the DSI: Design for Social Innovation graduate program that supports designers who center on communities to make lasting social change. Lastly, she continues to serve as a member of the Board of Directors at AIANY: American Institute of Architects advocating for a more engaging and responsible environment for all who create AND experience architecture.Amanda holds degrees in architecture and building science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Her transdisciplinary process stems from working alongside interior, industrial, graphic, digital, community, and business designers at Ralph Appelbaum Associates and Bruce Mau Design. She was Principal and Innovation Director at Gensler for over 17 years during which she served as co-chair of the Gensler Research and Innovation Awards program; co-led the organization’s Inclusive Design Network; advised the Not-For-Profit Practice Area; founded the firm’s innovation consultancy “superstudio;” and published research about innovation adoption, innovation hubs, and building a culture of innovation. Her expertise in workplace and culture strategy extended to clients in the Life Sciences community such as Johnson & Johnson and Organon; in the Creative Agency world such as Edelman and Ogilvy; in the Tech industry such as IBM and HP; and to those in the Nonprofit sector such as Ford Foundation and Latino Justice. Her mission throughout her career has been to bring social innovation into all her work.Born and raised in NYC, she lives in Brooklyn with her husband and twin 13-year-old daughters. She strongly believes in big ideas that are made as a result of radical collaboration, co-opetition, and creativity.
