I’ve always loved anything that made me think — puzzles, board games, riddles, you name it. But it was my high school psychology class that sparked my interest in the biggest puzzle of all — human behavior. I thought about becoming a clinical psychologist, but social psychology ended up being a better fit for me. I love exploring why people follow trends, behave differently in social contexts, and how these insights can drive change. After earning my Ph.D. in Social Psychology, I began my career in HR consulting, focusing on employee engagement and organizational transformation for Fortune 500 companies. I became a skilled moderator and facilitator, leading focus groups, workshops, and in-depth interviews. I also designed surveys and applied advanced analytics like regression and conjoint analysis to help clients understand trade-offs and connect attitudes to business performance. This experience highlighted the importance of combining qualitative and quantitative methods to uncover actionable insights and navigate complex business challenges.Life happens and, I eventually sought more flexibility and found a role at a small consumer research firm, where I applied my skills in HR consulting to market research. I worked with major CPG companies, evaluating everything from packaging designs to consumer emotions with facial coding software.Now at Harvest, I leverage my skills in customer and employee research to address a wide range of challenges, from branding and product design to improving user experiences. I manage research projects from start to finish, whether it’s moderating focus groups or diving into survey data to extract insights. I love that we use a broad toolkit of qual and quant methodologies—like online or in person IDIs, bulletin boards/ communities, surveys, and user testing. It keeps us agile and responsive to client needs, allowing us to work across various industries from healthcare, finance, tech to government. My research approach blends detail-orientation with big-picture thinking, and my ability to connect with participants creates an environment where they feel comfortable sharing openly, leading to more richer more meaningful insights.
