Tutoring undergraduates enrolled in Envisioning Futures Worth Wanting

Coordinated work across all parts of the business in preparation for the opening of a second animal hospital, the Lort Smith Campbellfield Centre. Liaised across portfolios to support well-aligned and timely decisions, identified challenges early and collaboratively worked to find resolutions, and facilitated process and workflow redesign to support a smooth transition to a new model of working.

The Yak Collective is an online space for collaborative tinkering toward life in a post-Weirding world — a world where anomalous and outlier events are an every day occurrence.

Board position providing strategic leadership to shape and connect the next generation to lead change in global health through content curation, thought leadership, program facilitation, and forming partnerships.

Developed organisational capability in continuous improvement through facilitation, coaching and training leaders working at all levels. Designed and facilitated strategic foresight workshops for priority initiatives, such as submissions with partners for the Safer Care Victoria Innovation Fund and responding to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System. Led a redesign of the Model for Improvement to mature the model and bring a renewed focus to the human elements of change. Developed and delivered training packages to facilitate deeper understanding of ways to effectively lead change.

Lead for the 2018 Patient Flow Partnership, improving access to emergency care through a whole-of-hospital approach to addressing barriers to patient flow. I facilitate working groups to diagnose barriers to flow, then design and implement process changes to support timely access to services. I collaborate with the 14 other health services undertaking this work supported by Better Care Victoria.I've contributed to the development of the Royal Children's Hospital 2018 Strategic Plan by preparing a horizon scanning report, development of future scenarios, and assisting facilitation of senior leaders in workshops.In 2017 I managed the Specialist Clinics Telehealth Project, leading a small team to facilitate the redesign of 5 models of care to incorporate delivery of care by telehealth. We were able to improve equity of access to care for rural and regional families by significantly reducing the time commitment, financial cost, and disruption to daily life to attend a 15min consultation. This work has been presented at an international conference, and was a finalist in the 2018 Victorian Public Healthcare Awards.

Lead policy development for the Residential Care Workforce Quality Initiative, introducing mandatory qualifications to ensure that residential care workers have the capabilities and skills required to look after some of Victoria’s most vulnerable young people with complex behaviours.

Co-developed a strategic plan to transition simulation programs that have relied on government funding to become self-sustaining models; the plan focuses on supporting communication and connection, learning and career development, access and management of resources, and piloting fee-for-service programs.

Provided expertise and support to sector-led quality improvement projects to support the translation of evidence into practice and promote a culture of improvement, innovation and collaboration.

Provided workforce planning, workforce design, organisational development and change management services to health service managers for a workforce exceeding 17,000 positions across metro and rural areas.

Initiated and led a project from initiation to execution which delivered a new data collection system, integrated into existing e-health records and enabled proactive case management by clearly outlining the next steps for each child and young person on the pathway.

Seconded to audit Hunter New England Health’s tool for reporting on key performance indicators to the Ministry of Health, identifying errors, improving accuracy and alignment with the Hunter New England Operational Plan.
