About Amanda Roy
I am currently a 2nd year MSc candidate working under the supervision of Dr. Edana Cassol and Dr. Utkarsh Dang at Carleton University, collaborating with Dr. Jonah Marek and Dr. Katrina Dezeeuw from Bruyère Continuing Care. Through the extraction of valuable data from electronic patient records, our objective is to establish a wound database that enables us to characterize the diabetic population attending the wound management program. This initiative seeks to examine the types of wounds experienced in this demographic, investigate healing rates and identify predictors influencing healing responses.My passion is for research, principally analysis of trends to identify relationships that exist between significant events in health, disease and medications, in order to pinpoint areas for improvement in health and pharmaceuticals which could lead to a more proactive perspective on health. My character is one of motivation accentuated by gratitude, and humility to all that are around me. I am extremely approachable and cheerful, with the ability to self-motivate or become motivated within a team. I take initiative to always go above and beyond with tasks I am assigned too, always striving for improvement. I pay thorough attention to detail while being able to work under pressure, as well as meet tight deadlines and stay calm when faced with adversity.
