Rehired after relocation from Tennessee. Primary duties include PACU/Phase 2 recovery for a variety of types of surgeries and procedures such as orthopedic (including total joint replacements), gynecologic, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, plastic and general surgeries. Also, Pre-op and Endoscopy nurse. Perform patient care throughout the perioperative process, to include the initial patient assessment and preparing patient for surgery, ensuring proper consents and documentation are present, and assisting anesthesia with pre and post operative pain management blocks. Provide patient care intraoperatively during endoscopic procedures, and the immediate post operative period for all cases.

Recovery room for many types of eye surgeries such as cornea transplants, retinal detachment, cataracts and plastic surgeries to include blepharoplasty and Moh’s.

Duties varied from ordering supplies to organizing department for opening: after opening, ensuring that every patient had necessary documentation/consents. Ensuring compliance with ASPAN standards, SCIP protocol and facility policies. Preceptor to new hires and new grads. Responsible for monthly POCT HCG logs and lab coordination. Took key role in developing and implementing a Temporary Workforce Staffing Department during Covid-19. Established policies for department, matched and reassigned non-essential staff to other units with high need based on skills and provided necessary education requirements. Coordinated with other nursing unit’s assistant nurse managers for departmental needs.

30 bed medical/surgical inpatient unit where I used the nursing process to care for patients ranging from young adolescents to the elderly. One of the unit’s primary charge nurses. Advanced duties include making sure every patient is up to date on flu and pneumonia vaccines and checking unit compliance with SCIP and Core Measures.

Utilized skills and experience to work with one of the busiest partners of Fauquier County’s largest family practice with 13+ providers. Duties included administering vaccinations to pediatric patients and ensuring their school physical examinations and paper work were compliant with county requirements. Performing initial assessments on all patients, from pediatric to geriatric, and reporting to physician. Also performed in house laboratory testing, including rapid flu/step tests, venipuncture, EKGS, spirometry, vision and hearing tests.
