Primary duties include PACU/Phase 2 recovery for a variety of types of surgeries and procedures such as orthopedic (including total joint replacements), gynecologic, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, plastic and general surgeries. Also, Pre-op and Endoscopy nurse. Perform patient care throughout the perioperative process, to include the initial patient assessment and preparing patient for surgery, ensuring proper consents and documentation are present, and assisting anesthesia with pre and post operative pain management blocks. Provide patient care intraoperatively during endoscopic procedures, and the immediate post operative period for all cases.

Took key role in developing and implementing a Temporary Workforce Staffing Department during Covid-19. Established policies for department, matched and reassigned non-essential staff to other units with high need based on skills and provided necessary education requirements. Coordinated with other nursing unit’s assistant nurse managers for departmental needs.

30 bed medical/surgical inpatient unit where I used the nursing process to care for patients ranging from young adolescents to the elderly. One of the unit’s primary charge nurses. Advanced duties include making sure every patient is up to date on flu and pneumonia vaccines and checking unit compliance with SCIP and Core Measures.

Utilized skills and experience to work with one of the busiest partners of Fauquier County’s largest family practice with 13+ providers.
