As an assistant manager I possess the ability to positively lead a team. I have had the opportunity to train new team members, answer phone calls, organize schedules, work with clients and keep a business expenses report. With this work experience I have been able to run my own tutoring business and act as a team member as a tutor at the College of DuPage.As a personal tutor I have gained the knowledge and appreciation of our educators. I have learned how to create, organize and follow through lesson plans. I have the ability to research new strategies; to explain concepts in multiple ways to cater to all learning types. One example of this is when I was tutoring at the College of DuPage. I had a student who struggled with multiplication. They were unable to multiple by hand using the traditional approach, so I showed the student how to use the lattice method of multiplication. With this approach the student was able to multiply by hand resulting in an A on their next quiz.In the past I have tutored College Arithmetic,Geometry, Foundations for College Mathematics 1, Foundations for College Mathematics 2, General Education Mathematics, Math for Elementary School Teachers 1, Math for Elementary School Teachers 2, History of Mathematics, Precalculus 1, Precalculus 2: Trigonometry, Finite Mathematics, Statistics 101, Discrete Mathematics, Calculus and Analytic Geometry I, Sociology 101, Anthropology 101, Art History, Psychology 101, Educational Psychology, Spanish 101 and Spanish 102.
