As an Executive Assistant, I assisted the CEO in preparing for board and staff meetings. In addition, I coordinated home health prior authorizations for patients with non-Medicare/Medicaid insurances. To do this, I tracked and followed up online and over the phone with health insurance representatives to ensure that the proper documentation has been received.During the COVID-19 pandemic, I spearheaded fundraisers such as the agency’s virtual trivia night and walkathon. The most recent fundraiser, the walkathon, was able to gather nine corporate sponsors and raise over $13,000. One project I oversaw was the implementation and training for our electronic fax system, Forcura. Since Forcura’s implementation in February 2020, the average physician order has gone from 30 days to 8 days outstanding. Forcura’s implementation had successfully transferred the physicians’ orders process from entirely paper to entirely electronic. Another responsibility I held was the maintenance of the agency’s donor database. I regularly imported and exported data to and from the database and generated reports used to send out mass appeal letters.

At UMass Amherst, I was a Teaching Assistant for an Introduction to Community Health Education course. In this role, I mentored students on how to successfully implement semester-long health interventions for the UMass Amherst community. Duties included fairly grading assignments as well as meeting with students outside of class time. Additionally, I presented to the class of 50 students on my experience working with the geriatric community

As a Medical Records Clerk, I worked alongside nurses, home health aides, and office staff in keeping patient files up to date. Using Excel, I prepared records for Medicare audit. Upon my first three months of employment, I assisted in merging medical records from two conjoining Visiting Nurse Associations. Additionally, I distributed telephone surveys to discharged patients while working remotely from Amherst, Massachusetts.

As a Third Key Manager, I promoted store deals and supported customers with shopping needs and questions. One large component of my job was to perform ear piercings in a safe and relaxed manner. I was also given the responsibility to open and close the store alone. To do this I had to count registers, send out sales reports to district representatives, log employee hours, and make bank deposits.

As a Boston Medical Center Intern, I shadowed the Director of Emergency Management for the hospital. I was exposed to the ins and outs of how emergency management operates in a large-scale health care facility. Attending hospital meetings allowed me to gain insight on how multiple stakeholders collaborate to reduce vulnerability of hazards and cope with disasters. Working hands-on, I cooperated with hospital staff in implementing a fire safety training. An additional project I assisted with was moving an active maternity unit to a newly refurbished space.
