Experienced, practical, collaborative in-house counsel and legal department leader.I have extensive experience managing a legal department and handling all aspects of the in-house counsel function at a highly regulated entity. I started my legal career as a briefing attorney to Chief Justice Wallace B. Jefferson of the Texas Supreme Court. After that, I worked as a Litigation Associate in the Austin office of Locke Lord, LLP. I primarily represented banks and mortgage servicers in lawsuits across Texas and handled all aspects of cases, including discovery, depositions, and hearings. After several years of large law firm practice, I briefly served as in-house counsel at a non-bank lender. In 2015, I had the opportunity to join the full-time faculty at the University of Texas School of Law, where I taught Legal Analysis and Communication and Persuasive Writing and Advocacy and served as a first-year student advisor. In 2019, I was elected legal writing Professor of the Year by the Student Bar Association. In 2019, I joined Farm Credit Bank of Texas, where I currently serve as SVP and Deputy General Counsel. I am passionate about using my broad legal experience to help serve the Farm Credit mission of supporting rural America.
