I earned an ASB as a Medical Assistant and have obtained certification in my field. For the eight months, I was employed in a family practice setting. My experience enables me to care for patients from newborn to geriatric. I can communicate in an efficient yet friendly manner to ensure a more enjoyable visit for the patient. I can perform basic tasks such as taking vitals, triaging phone calls, drawing labs and assisting with minor procedures. I have knowledge and training in CPR and AED operation. I am aware of HIPAA guidelines and OSHA regulations needed to protect both patients and employees. I am currently employed at The Reading Health System as a patient care assistant in the Emergency Department Observation Unit. I have been with them for two and a half years. I am currently exploring my options to continue my education. My goal is to obtain my RN and then my BSN degrees. I have a passion for helping people and feel I could better service the medical community by continuing my education.
