Worked under the direction of Professor Annika Frieberg on the historiography of familial dynamics and conflict in Germany after World War II.

Execute corporate changes to store layout and product displays, process shipment, implement marketing changes, assist customers, and train new employees. Transitioned through remodels with two store locations.

Ensured that corporate standards were properly implemented, led floor sets in which the entire store was rebranded into a new theme on a 3-week cycle, managed marketing materials and upcoming promotions, and trained new employees.

Assisted 35-40 first-year students in a 200-resident hall through their first year of college. Planned corridor and hall events to promote diversity, conflict resolution, interpersonal and intrapersonal development, academic success, campus safety, and community building. Participated in regular training sessions in these areas, as well as in suicide/at-risk awareness, crisis management, state and federal laws, and university policies and operations.

Course: Introduction to Journalism. Guided approximately 20 students through the interviewing, writing, editing, and publication process of feature news stories. Led group discussions and graded exams. Local media outlets published the work of approximately 12 students each semester.

Composed and edited press releases and feature stories regarding campus events and student/faculty/staff accomplishments and recognition. Transcribed all official university videos released by the News and Communications Office for online use, organized the online photo database, and wrote online departmental backgrounders for all departments within the College of Arts & Science.

Wrote and produced news features, short features and cut-and-copy stories for a weekly 25 minute radio show. Anchored the news show on a rotating basis. Won Best Radio Feature for "A Lifetime of Honeybees" in the Society of Professional Journalists' Region 4 Mark of Excellence Awards in the spring of 2014.

Developed angles for and edited stories of the 11 writers for the sports, scene, and feature sections of the magazine, wrote feature stories, and approved photography, final edits, and layouts. Managed Facebook page.

Planned campus events to promote and teach ethical practices in journalism, including a two-day visit of former executive editor of The New York Times Bill Keller, the 2013 regional conference at the University of Dayton, webinars with foreign correspondents from media outlets such as The Associated Press, workshops to teach media law, digital content production and more, and informal gatherings for student media leaders to discuss the issues they were facing.

Managed a staff of 18 reporters and web masters, oversaw the redesign of the publication’s website, managed budgets, and produced, approved, and edited website content such as print, audio, video, and other visual elements for communities in southwest Ohio. Awarded the Society of Professional Journalists' region 4 Mark of Excellence Award in the category of Best Independent Online Multimedia Publication in April 2012.
